PGA Level 3 Advance Teaching Practice Test

Using a personal interview at the beginning of a lesson is an effective method for expert instructors to gather valuable information about their students. This technique allows the instructor to engage with each student directly, encouraging open dialogue where students can express their thoughts, goals, and any previous experiences they have with the subject matter.

Through a personal interview, instructors can assess the individual needs, learning styles, and skill levels of their students, which is crucial for tailoring the lesson to achieve optimal results. It also helps build rapport and trust between the instructor and the students, making them feel more comfortable and open to participating in the lesson.

This method contrasts with a written quiz, which may not fully capture a student's thoughts or provide insights into their individual experiences; asking students to practice assumes a certain level of competence and does not allow for the collection of background information; and demonstrating techniques focuses more on conveying information rather than understanding the learner's perspective. Thus, the personal interview stands out as a comprehensive method for gathering pertinent information to enhance the learning experience.
